I get it.I am aware. Yes, I UNDERSTAND that you go to the video arcade every Friday. What is it that you find so seductive about the games gallery? Is it the ticket prizes? The blue-now-black carpet emblazoned with little pizza emblems (and smelling of pizza)? The cash machine that eats your money?

Lets get one thing straight here. I don't actually care. I don't actually care why you go to the video arcade every friday night. I don't actually care because this coming Friday night you will be at our show. A real life rock show with instruments and everything, moron. No games.

If you're over 17 and under 65, come rock with us at Lola's Saloon in Fort Worth. I'm not talking about bowling with your stupid aunt. I'm talking about kickass rock. The food of the gods.

I am a moody, depressive type b. In elementary school all I cared about was knives, that and guns. I wanted to create an army club. Now I have no idea what that club would be about. Especially at 10 years old. I like to fight. I hate many things. I love guns. I fucking love them. There's a degree of violence inside me, but I've worked with it. I might not be a colonel, but the violence never went away.
It's something I try to include in the music of the frontier brothers. We are not a metal band. The tunes are bright. That's brett and his unorthodox style. But if you listen carefully, especially to the new ablum, you find something confrontational. Something hostile. The songs are pretty; they're nice. But there's a  violence there. I'd rather be Frank Black than Jeremiah Johnson. Black was a demon. I like to walk the same line. Maybe someone who was born a killer. In music, violence is powerful. It can be beautiful. So that's something. Can't wait till you guys hear the album.

A DFW Weekend - Show Report

The sweltering Texas heat subsided Thursday night in reverence for The Frontier Brothers. We played Fort Worth's premier downtown rock brasserie, 8.0 (correlating with my IQ). The bill was considerable. Titan Moon started the evening and Chomsky and the Burning Hotels finished things off. It was a good show, if our fans are to be believed, however, the stage sound was frustrating. 8.0 is the victim of a cruel sound ordinance law which caps the noise at 95 decibels. A little orange light on the front of the stage lights up when the band gets too loud, and if - god forbid - that orange light turns red, stage power shuts off for the night. As a result, we had to deal with a wretched stage mix, no drums, quiet vocals, and muddy keyboards. Nonetheless, it was a successful show. Our 8.0 gig also marked the return of a TFB classic, Christmasville.

Last night we played The Cavern in Dallas. Cavern is a room we know well, situated in the heart of lower greenville aka land of the cops. Stage sound was loud and clear. Room was nearly empty. Unfortunately, being a "headlining act," means playing the nightowl slot at these clubs. Yes, we're a headlining act. But this is Dallas we're talking about.
